We wanted a sound for HUNTING SEASON that was as fun and energetic as the show itself. And while it had to feel cohesive, the music still needed to be varied and dynamic. We used dance music, driving rock tracks, catchy pop tunes and soulful surprises to find the right complement for what was playing in each scene. If it was grounded in the characters’ everyday lives, that music tends to have a grittier texture. The more heightened moments require something bigger and more cinematic, and the sex scenes often have an unexpectedly sweet or fantastical counterweight. Above all I wanted to unequivocally love each track and many easily found their way to the top of my favorite playlist.
